Biography
PD Dr. med. Hischam Bassiouni is an Associate Professor of Neurosurgery and he is also the Director of two Neurosurgical Clinics at two major academic teaching hospitals, (Klinikum Amberg and Klinikum Weiden) in Bavaria, Germany. He is also the member of German Neurosurgical Society (DGNC), European Neurosurgical society (EANS), German skull base society (DGSB). He had his Neurosurgical training at University Hospital Aachen (1993-1996) and University Hospital Essen (1996-2000), Germany. His neurosurgical and scientific subspecializations include neuro-oncology, neurovascular surgery, skull base surgery, and neuropediatric surgery. He is the first author of 13 publications in high-ranked Neurosurgical journals and authored several chapters in international neurosurgical reference books and Peer-reviewer for several international journals including ‚Brain Research’, ‘Neurologia India’, ‘Journal of Neurology’, ‘Clinical Neurology & Neurosurgery’, ‘Neurosurgical Review’, ‘Surgical Neurology’, etc. Also, he had Neurosurgical experience including microsurgery on >2000 brain tumors and >800 intracranial vascular malformations with routine application of latest technology including Neuronavigation, microscopic fluorescent techniques, intraoperative monitoring, neuro-endoscopy, etc.
